The archeological site of Knossos offers us the myths of the Labyrinth with the Minotaur and of Daedalus with Icarus. Knossos was the heart of the Minoan Civilization and the seat of King Minos. The Minoan Palace is the main visitable area of Knossos, which was an important city in antiquity, with continuous life from the Neolithic years to the 5th century AD. It was built on the hill of Kefala, with easy access to the sea and the interior of Crete.
In combination with the archeological museum of Heraklion, all the information from the excavations and in its entirety, the Minoan civilization are presented here. Archaeological finds from all over Crete are presented in the Heraklion Museum, covering the history of the island for more than 5500 years.

Our next stop is the Tomb of Kazantzakis. It is located at the highest point of the walls of Heraklion, overlooking the imposing "Eternal City of Heraklion". The city is renewed with new sidewalks and renovated old, traditional buildings.
We start our visit on the "25th of August" street, opposite the Koule Fortress. Continuing, we meet Agios Titos with the church square and the Venetian Loggia where the modern City Hall is located. The Basilica of St. Mark is now the function of the Municipal Gallery. The square with the lions. Daedalus Street, the heart of trade, a paved street, leads us to Korai Square.
